Whitsunday Airport, just a few minutes from Airlie Beach, is where your family trip begins. You’ll get a cordial welcome and a safety lecture that everyone can understand before you get on the helicopter and climb slowly into the sky.

Soon, the bright hues of the Whitsundays will be below you—emerald islands surrounded by azure lagoons and coral reefs. You can view Whitehaven Beach from above. It is often ranked among the most beautiful beaches in the world and features seven miles of stunning white silica sand. The shifting sands and the brilliant turquoise waves above Hill Inlet create a scene that captivates both kids and adults.

As the flight goes on, your pilot shows out Heart Reef, a naturally sculpted coral heart that has become a symbol of Australia. Everyone in the family gets a front-row seat to this UNESCO-listed masterpiece since they are assured window seats. After one more trip over the reef and islands, you’ll arrive safely back at Whitsunday Airport, with full camera rolls and big grins all around.
