Introduction

The Combined Paronella Park / Mamu Tropical Skywalk Admissions trip takes you deep into the rainforest of Wooroonooran National Park, a World Heritage-listed piece of paradise, then on into the one-of-a-kind fairytale world of Paronella Park.

First off, climb up high into the rainforest canopy at Mamu Tropical Skywalk, where the elevated walkways + a cantilever, & a 37m high observation deck give you breathtaking views right out over the North Johnstone River gorge. There’s a wealth of information on the original owners of the land, the indigenous people, and early European settlers, all laid out on interpretive signs, and you can even get audio guides in many languages.

Next, all you have to do is get in your car and drive the 30 mins to Paronella Park, where you can uncover the magic, a real-life castle built by some bloke named José Paronella back in the 1930s. Join a guided tour, have a wander around the gardens, cross a suspension bridge over a stunning waterfall and just generally soak up the vibe in one of the coolest heritage spots you’ll ever see in Australia.

FAQ

Honestly, you’ll want to block out a full day to take in the best of both locations.

Yes, the Skywalk is a great place to bring the family, but of course, they need to be supervised at all times.

Mamu is great, completely wheelchair-accessible. Paronella’s a bit of a mixed bag; we’ve got some accessibility in place, but the courtesy 4WD helps out a lot, too.

Sorry, no pets allowed in the park, but if you’re looking for an alternative, we do have a pre-arranged pet-sitting service available at Mamu

Yeah, you can. Paronella Park has cabins and caravan sites available, but you’ll need to ring them up to book.

Well, the rainforest is actually pretty cool in the rain, just grab an umbrella, and you’ll be right. But in really extreme weather, we might need to close things up for safety reasons.
