Make sure you get checked in at the floating office beside Quick Cat II at Great Sandy Straits Marina at least 15 minutes before we set off – think near Cafe Balena.

8:00 AM – Off We Go from Great Sandy Straits Marina
Step on board Quick Cat II and get ready to trawl through the Great Sandy Straits in style. We’ve got morning tea and refreshments to keep you going, and our experienced crew will regale you with stories and local tales all the way to Kingfisher Bay.
Keep an eye out for any dolphins, sea turtles and flying fish – we’ve got a few magical friends swimming around out there.
Mid-Morning – Anchoring Up & Water Fun Galore
We do a quick pick up of some extra guests at Kingfisher Bay Resort, then we find a gorgeous little bay to drop anchor.
Get the most out of the next couple of hours and indulge in:
- A cool swim in the crystal-clear water
- Paddle around on the Stand-up paddleboards
- Zoom down that inflatable slide or leap off the jumping platforms
- Grab the snorkelling gear and explore the underwater world
- Grab a drink and kick back on the sun decks
When the weather and tides are with us, we’ll get you to the beach where you can swim, paddle or even take a tender to the beach for some time out on the sand.
Early Afternoon – Lunch Time at Kingfisher Bay Resort
We cruise on over to Kingfisher Bay Resort and grab some lunch at the Sandbar Bistro – the menu is all yours, and so is your complimentary drink. Enjoy!
After lunch, you can make the most of all the facilities – that means pool, spa and all the rest.
Back to the Mainland
We either sail back to the mainland on the 2:30PM barge or the 5:00PM one – it really depends on when you decide to leave Kingfisher Bay Resort. Once you’re back, we’ll even give you a courtesy transfer back to your accommodation or marina.

- The majority of the trip is at sea, which means beach access can be weather-dependent
- You need to be pretty mobile and able to navigate stairs at the resort and on the barge on your own. We can’t help with heavy power wheelchairs, unfortunately, but light foldable wheelchairs and walkers are okay
- You’ll need to keep an eye on the kids at all times, and we do have a maximum number of 40 people on the trip
- You’ll need to be on time for your catch to the barge. Don’t worry if you forget, but it’s all on you to make sure you don’t miss it
- The trip can be cancelled if the weather is just too bad, and in that case, we’ll either give you your money back or let you rebook
- And just to be upfront, we do have some conditions that might make you miss the trip, so you should read on to check that out
We can handle light foldable wheelchairs and walkers, but the stairs at the jetty and barge can be a bit tricky

Sorry, it’s really down to the tides and the weather, so we can’t promise that we’ll get you to the beach on time.
What happens if we hit bad weather?
If the weather is really, really bad, we won’t set off, and you’ll get a refund or the chance to rebook.
Can I hang around at Kingfisher Bay Resort for a bit?
Sorry, you’ll need to get back on the barge at either 2:30 PM or 5:00 PM; that’s the deal when you book a ticket.
