So come aboard, let’s set sail from the Great Sandy Straits Marina with Aqua Oasis Cruise, on the fantastic Quick Cat II, a real fun boat that knows its way around the waters of the Great Sandy Straits, and will soon be taking you to the stunning K’gari (or Fraser Island as some still call it).
Our cruise has been put together to give you the lot, time to chill, time to get your adrenaline pumping, a chance to spot some amazing local wildlife, and loads of activities to keep the kids (or the kid in all of us) happy. Whether you’re leaping off the inflatable slide into the cool water below, trying your hand at paddleboarding through the crystal clear waters, or simply lounging on deck with a cold drink in your hand, this is the perfect way to get away from it all and have some quality ocean time.
Fancy treating yourself to an upgraded ticket that includes lunch at Kingfisher Bay Resort? Or perhaps you’d rather spend the afternoon exploring K’Gari, it’s completely up to you.

Full Itinerary
- 7:45 AM – Arrival Time. Get here to the floating office at Great Sandy Straits Marina at least 15 minutes before we set off – okay?
- 8:00 AM – We’re Off! Sail away on the Quick Cat II (we’ll take about 30–45 minutes to get to Kingfisher Bay Resort firstly – and then our guide will give you the low-down on the history & local knowledge).
Scenic Wildlife Cruise
As you cruise through the waterways – keep your eyes peeled for dolphins, sea turtles, flying fish and the occasional sea eagle.
Playtime at the Anchorage!
When we arrive at our special spot, you can get in the water and enjoy:
- Swimming in the calm waters
- Go paddleboarding
- Get snorkelling gear on & explore the underwater world
- Have a go on the inflatable slide
- Play on the multi-level jumping platforms
- Hang out on the air dock with toys & games
- If you feel like it, you can get in a swag of beach cricket or a game of frisbee
- We’ll even take you to shore in a tender (if the conditions are right)
Don’t want to play? That’s alright – just find a sunspot on the deck, grab a drink and chill out.
Upgrade Guests – Afternoon Explorations at K’Gari
If you treated yourself to lunch, you’ll disembark at Kingfisher Bay Resort to enjoy a meal at Sandbar Bistro and have some time to yourself on K’gari. We’ll then ship you back to the mainland on the 2:30PM or 5:00PM resort barge.
Cruise Only Guests
Back to Great Sandy Straits Marina for you at around 1:15 PM.
- Take a scenic cruise with a guide who’ll tell you all about the area as you go
- Get your morning off to a great start with some free tea and snacks
- We’ll have you out on the water for 2+ hours, with loads of time to play and explore
- Water gear is all taken care of, so just show up and start having fun
- There’ll be beach games & umbrellas for the sunworshippers, and a fully licenced bar to grab a drink
- Plus, you’ll have a super low number of passengers, so it’ll feel like your own private cruise
- Aqua Oasis + Lunch @ K’Gari is a real treat, you’ll get to see the sights and then eat a delicious lunch at a beautiful spot (+$35pp)
- Grab a drink or a snack from our onboard bar
- Don’t forget to check out the souvenirs or buy a few extra goodies at the local resort
- If you fancy splurging a bit more, you can do it on your own at the resort
- Don’t forget the essentials: a hat, sunglasses, some sunscreen and a towel
- If you’ve got a waterproof camera, that’d be great to bring along
- If you want to buy a thing or two when we’re at the resort, just bring some money
- And, of course, a sense of adventure!
- This is basically a boat trip, so we’ll be on the water a lot; if the tide or weather is bad, we might not be able to get to the beach
- We can’t guarantee that you’ll be able to get ashore, even if you want to
- If you come with kids, make sure one of the grown-ups is with them at all times
- We can’t have smokes on the boat, sorry
- And please, listen to the crew when they tell you what to do, they’re the experts
The weather’s pretty important to us, so we won’t set off if it’s not safe. If we have to cancel due to bad weather, we’ll issue a full refund and work with you to reschedule.
- We don’t think this trip requires you to be a complete athlete, so feel free to come along regardless of fitness level
- Our crew are really friendly and very experienced, so you’ll be in good hands
- This is a family-friendly trip, and we’re happy to have people of all ages along
- And if you’re a little person (0-3 years old), you come for free!
If you’re planning on upgrading to lunch at the resort, just tell us when you book what you’re eating. We need to know about any special dietary needs
The snacks we provide on the boat are pretty light, but if you’ve got any allergies or things like that, just let us know and we’ll make sure to make provision
- If you arrive late or get stuck, sorry but you won’t get a refund
- We can cancel the trip if the weather, tide or numbers don’t play ball
- If we do have to cancel, you can either get a refund or come back another time
- If you upgrade to go to K’Gari, and you miss the barge, you’ll have to pay for it again
- And we do reserve the right to change boats if necessary

Is the Aqua Oasis Cruise good for kids?
Absolutely! We’ve got supervised water activities and games on the beach, and adults have to stay with the kids.
Do I have to get wet?
Nope! You can just relax on deck and enjoy the view if that’s what you feel like.
Is wildlife guaranteed?
Sorry, no! We turn up to find out what’s around, but we can’t make animals come out to play.
What happens if the weather is bad?
If it’s really bad, we’ll reschedule or give you a refund. We just want to make sure everyone’s safe and happy.
Can I stay longer if I upgrade to K’Gari?
You sure can! After lunch, you can stay and play until it’s time to get back on the 2:30 or 5:00 barge.
