Broadbeach Fine Dining Guide

Broadbeach fine dining is found in two top-notch areas: The Star Gold Coast and Oracle Boulevard. The real decision isn’t about blowing the whole wad on a fancy table; it’s about what kind of evening you’re in the mood for.

A set menu at Nineteen at The Star sets you back about A$310 before you even order a drink, and let’s be honest, a premium steak, some lobster, or a decent bottle of wine can quickly blow the budget. But it’s pretty easy to do in Broadbeach.

Pick The Right Format

At Kōst Bar & Grill, dinner is an event in itself. The Kōst Experience is a snip at A$155 a head and whizzes by with seafood, steak tartare, wood-fired chicken, plenty of sides and dessert.

To be honest, it’s the sort of booking where you really want to give yourself the whole evening, not slot it in between other plans. Trying to keep an eye on the time just kind of undermines the whole dining experience.

Now, Kiyomi, tucked away inside The Star, is a bit more flexible. Its Japanese menu starts with seafood and smaller sharing plates before moving into premium Wagyu, so your spend really depends on what catches your eye.

A top-grade steak can add a cheeky A$80 or so compared to a pricier Wagyu cut, and that freedom to choose is part of Kiyomi’s charm, but it also makes the final price a bit harder to nail down.

Uncle Su and Cucina Vivo offer some pretty high-end Chinese and Italian options in The Star precinct, but they don’t quite fit what we’re looking for here.

Match The Occasion

For a celebration, Nineteen at The Star is the obvious place to start. The Nineteen rooftop and Level 19 views do part of the work before the food arrives, and the selected set menu keeps the cost relatively clear at about A$220 for two before drinks.

That kind of price certainty is useful at this end of the market. One less surprise when the bill lands is no bad thing.

For steak and wine, Moo Moo Wine & Grill is the specialist. Premium beef and a substantial wine cellar are the point, not an afterthought, and its position opposite the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre also makes it practical for corporate dinners and private functions.

For seafood, BLOWFISH Ocean Grill + Bar is where the spending becomes more deliberate. Its live lobster needs about 48 hours’ notice and, at the currently listed size range, costs roughly A257–A371 for the lobster alone.

That is not an impulsive add-on. It is the meal.

Know What You’re Paying For

The money goes in different directions depending on where you book.

At Kōst, it buys a structured multi-course dining experience. At Kiyomi, premium ingredients drive the total higher. At Nineteen, the rooftop, Level 19 views and the option of sunset cocktails are part of the equation.

That is why average spend only tells half the story. I would decide what sort of evening I wanted first, then see whether the price still made sense.

Avoid Extra Charges

Surcharges become noticeable once dinner is already sitting around the A$300 mark. Kōst currently adds 10% on Sundays and 15% on public holidays, while Kiyomi applies a 15% public-holiday surcharge plus a card fee.

On a A300dinner,that15%addsA45. If your dates are flexible, moving the booking can save more than swapping one dish for another.

Not romantic, admittedly. Still useful.

Pick The Right Precinct

Broadbeach’s premium dining falls into two camps: The Star and Oracle Boulevard. I think of the choice less as geography and more as mood — stay under one roof with everything close at hand, or head to a walkable street precinct where dinner can stretch into a drink afterwards with little planning.

Pair Dinner With Entertainment

The Star brings together Kiyomi, Nineteen at The Star, Uncle Su and Cucina Vivo. It makes sense when dinner is part of a larger evening involving entertainment elsewhere in the Star Casino complex.

Driving in on a major event night can be slower than expected, so allow extra time for the car park. Starting dinner irritated by a parking queue is a fairly poor opening course.

Keep It Walkable

Oracle Boulevard feels more like a dining precinct than a destination complex. Kōst Bar & Grill and BLOWFISH Ocean Grill + Bar sit close to Oasis Shopping Centre, with the beach only a short walk away.

The G tram also makes it easy to reach from Surfers Paradise. Pacific Fair is farther south and useful as a landmark, but it is not where the premium dining cluster is centred.

What I like about this part of Broadbeach is how little effort the geography demands. The Star and Oracle Boulevard are close enough that the decision comes down to atmosphere, not a transport plan.

Book The Details Early

Booking ahead is a good idea, says Nineteen; they suggest booking a table 48 hours before a meal if you want live lobster at BLOWFISH, while larger groups at Moo Moo might be moved to a set menu and have to sit at a set time.

If there’s a particular spot you’re after — like a rooftop table or a quiet corner — get your request in with the booking. Asking to change a table once everyone has already sat down is usually a long shot.

Also mention any dietary needs upfront; some fancier places, like Kiyomi, will tell you they handle food allergens in the same kitchen.

FAQ

For a two-person dinner, around A220toA310 is the kind of money you can expect to spend around A$310 for a decent fine dining experience. Of course, add some Wagyu beef and a bottle of wine, and the bill can get a lot higher.

Yes, you do if you’re planning something special, like a birthday or anniversary. And certainly on Friday or Saturday nights. You also need to book if you’re a big group or want to try one of the fancier experiences. For live lobster at BLOWFISH, book early; you need 48 hours’ notice.

Two main strips: The Star Gold Coast focuses on resort-style fine dining, while Oracle Boulevard offers high-end restaurants in the heart of Broadbeach.

Definitely. You can get a great rooftop meal, Japanese fine dining, and top-notch steak or seafood all within a small area of Broadbeach. No need to head elsewhere on the Gold Coast.

Truth is, most places are pretty relaxed: smart-casual is the way to go, rather than out-and-out formal. Some places are a bit stricter; The Star is a good example, but it’s always a good idea to check the dress code before you head out.
